Frankfurt. With an estimated 181,000 units in the first half of 2017, the market for light and heavy commercial vehicles grew by 2.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the same period, the international manufacturers have registered around 49,000 new commercial vehicles and keep their market share stable at around 27 percent.
VDIK President Reinhard Zirpel: “We believe the strong commercial vehicle market as a whole will continue to develop positively until the end of the year. We are increasing our forecast for the commercial vehicle market in 2017 to over 362,000 new registrations. This would surpass the record volume of the year 2016.“
