For the third year now, VDIK has been supplying the Hochtaunus district with vehicle data software to shorten the rescue time
Bad Homburg. When rescuing seriously injured persons after car accidents, every second counts. Therefore, rescue workers need reliable information about how to open vehicles at the scene of the accident as quickly and safely as possible in order to free people.
Data sheets that contain specific information on the different vehicle models can provide important information for the rescue forces involved in the event of an accident and significantly reduce the rescue time. At present, more than 45 manufacturers` brands have provided more than 1,450 rescue data sheets.
The software SilverDAT FRS has been developed on behalf of the Association of the International Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (VDIK) and the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) in order to be able to handle this variety effectively, safely and up-to-date. The rescue forces can thus quickly retrieve the appropriate rescue data sheet of the damaged vehicle via an online number plate query and take the specific vehicle-related data into account.
Managing Director of the VDIK, Dr. Thomas Almeroth: “The VDIK has been based in Bad Homburg for decades and I am particularly pleased that we have been able to provide the SilverDAT FRS software of the Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH to the rescue coordination center of the Hochtaunus district since 2014. With the assumption of the software costs for 2017, we are providing the rescue forces for an additional year with an extremely fast information system for technical-medical accident rescue, which can be life-saving. “
