New registrations of private customers reached some 126,600 units, an increase of 13.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. Between January and March 2017, the private market grew by a total of 9 percent and now accounts for 33.4 percent of the total market.
For the third time in a row, VDIK members increased their sales more than the overall market and improved their market share in the first quarter of the year from 35.2 to currently 37.4 percent.
VDIK President Reinhard Zirpel: “The positive trend of the previous months continues in March and results in the best quarter since the year 2000, not taking the year of the environmental bonus into account. What`s important now is to take the momentum into the second quarter, where three working days are missing compared to the same period of the previous year.”
