The Association of International Motor Vehicle Manufacturers welcomes a new member. MG Motor has been admitted to the VDIK. The association now represents 39 brands of passenger car and commercial vehicle manufacturers from 13 countries in Germany.
Vehicles with alternative drives and especially electric vehicles are readily available in Germany today, also thanks to the range of products offered by international manufacturers. With a large number of electric models, the VDIK brands provide variety and choice. Reinhard Zirpel, VDIK President emphasized: “With MG Motor, the VDIK now accepts another company that exclusively offers electrified vehicles. Our member companies launched electric vehicles on the market early on and have been very successful with them. MG Motor will further raise this profile as a member of the VDIK.”
MG is already present on the German market with three electric passenger car models and at about 100 dealer locations. MG Motor’s parent company is SAIC Motor (Shanghai Automobile Industry Corporation). Jan Oehmicke, Vice President for Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH) at MG emphasized: “With our membership in the VDIK, we underline our goal to gain a foothold as a brand for electric cars in Germany and Europe. Because MG Motor has come to stay. We are looking forward to the cooperation and the opportunity to benefit from the expertise of the VDIK.”
