VinFast becomes VDIK member
The Association of International Motor Vehicle Manufacturers welcomes a new member. VinFast was admitted to the VDIK by decision of the Board of Directors. As a result, the association now represents 38 brands of passenger car and commercial vehicle manufacturers from twelve countries in Germany.
A particular strength of the international manufacturers is the diversity of their product range, also and especially in the area of alternative drives. Reinhard Zirpel, VDIK President emphasized: “With VinFast, the VDIK for the first time includes a company with roots in Vietnam. Thus, we now represent car brands from Europe and the USA as well as from three different Asian countries.” Zirpel continued “The international manufacturers have already launched electric vehicles on the market at an early stage and have been very successful with them. VinFast will further raise this profile as a member of the VDIK.”
VinFast is Vietnam’s first global automaker and part of Vingroup, a large private conglomerate in Asia. With its VDIK membership, the company emphasizes its market entry in Europe. In 2022, VinFast plans to unveil a range of electric cars. Bich Tran, CEO of VinFast in Europe adds, “It is very important for VinFast to be a member of VDIK. Germany is one of the most important passenger car markets in the world, where electric mobility is also growing rapidly. We are preparing intensively for the market entry and would like to use the expertise of the VDIK for this purpose as well.”
